As the saying goes, Unblock Sea View is better than Pool View, Pool View better than No View, No View better than Rubbish Bin View and Any View is better than Neighbour View.

Ground Floor With Big Patio

So how do you determine which view is right for you? And how much does view matter when purchasing a property? Well the simple answer is that its all subjective and depends very much on your personal preference, and one that suits your lifestyle!

A ground floor unit with a huge patio are perfect for an evening of entertainment, and other times, it can be an area where you can spend quality time with your little ones working on art projects to having an outdoor picnic in the comfort of your own home! On the flip side, these outdoor area do require more effort in maintain and additionally, any type of constructed permanent shelters are usually prohibited by MCST, hence, it's wise to check prior to making renovation plans!

Not a fan of outdoor entertainment, at least not in the warm and humid weather of tiny little red dot? And as such, a high floor apartment may be a unit of choice! Of course, it does comes with its own set of drawbacks as well, firstly, high floor units generally attracts a premium price tag over their lower floor cousins. Secondly, know the wind direction for the different months of the year.

Unblock City View

In some months, you may have the wind constantly coming through your window that will have your day curtains dancing throughout which can be annoying and doesn't give you the advantage in the end? Lastly, top floor units are known to trap heat and this could be potentially worse off than evening sun!

What about Pool View? To be honest, I can never quite get the "Pool View", especially in a development where the constant splashing of fountains can get rather loud during early morning or in the evening when you are trying to unwind. Having said that, it does have it advantage, and in some cases, its actually good Feng Shui to have a pool view as it bring luck to the owner of the house! So again, its entirely up to your personal preference!

The list can go on but what's important here is that you choose a unit that suit your lifestyle and understand that while you are paying premium on certain views, it may not necessarily translate to higher selling price when you are exiting the property (will cover this in another post)!

Meanwhile, happy hunting and a good mid week!
